This ministry is named after Katie (Katherine von Bora), the wife of Martin Luther, who was well known for her hospitality and her generous work with those in the community who were in need.
Indiana County Family Promise
Family Promise is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. Zion has joined with other churches in Indiana County to provide temporary housing and meals for homeless families. Families move from one church to another, staying with each church for one or two weeks at a time. Zion uses its former parsonage("Luther Haus") to house families. On average, families spend a total of four weeks at the Luther Haus.
